APECQ (Association patronale des enterprises en construction du Québec), the biggest multi sector-based employers’ association with memberships servicing the construction industry in the province of Quebec, has selected Siemens Canada as the recipient of its Manufacturer of the Year Award for 2009.

For more than 110 years, APECQ’s mission has consisted of supporting and defending its members’ interests and in supplying them with the best range of available services to insure their success.  “We are extremely pleased to have selected Siemens in Canada as our Manufacturer of the Year for 2009,” said Nick Iwanowski, president of APECQ.  “APECQ is much more than an association, it is a world of tools and services available to its members to improve their performance in today’s and tomorrow’s competitive environment, and we are proud to work with organizations such as Siemens.”

The committee reviewed a number of nominated companies based on established criteria and member feedback, including how the organization is perceived by other construction related businesses. “Siemens’ long-standing relationship with many of our member organizations and their outstanding reputation of reliability and exceptional service was a key factor in making our decision,” said Michel Raymond, director general of APECQ.

The selection for the company of the year award is executed in rotation amongst three groups: specialized and generalized entrepreneurs; professionals and suppliers/manufacturers.
