Siemens Canada donated more than $45,000 in toys, food, winter clothing and cash to the local charities across Canada.

This year, as part of Corporate Social Responsibility at Siemens, a new Siemens Hope for Holidays program included all charity-related initiatives organized at Siemens around the holiday season.

Employees and management from 20 offices located in six provinces, joined forces in supporting various efforts including toy and food drives. As part of its new Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, this was Siemens’ first national program incorporating initiatives of Siemens’ offices from coast to coast.

Nearly 1,100 toys and 60 boxes of food were collected for local charities and food banks. Moreover, two offices gathered winter clothing, and employees donated more than $2,000 in cash.

Most of the donations were made to the local chapters of the Salvation Army. Some other Siemens’ locations, which have longstanding relationships with the organizations in their communities, supported other local non-for-profit organizations and food banks.
